Bringing single use bioprocess equipment to market

The context

CPi Biotech designs and manufactures process equipment and single use assemblies for biopharmaceutical manufacturers.

My role covers the commercial direction of SpinMaster single use mixers, single use mixing systems and laboratory scale tangential flow filtration products.

The responsibility runs from product strategy and positioning through customer engagement, commercial development and the product lifecycle.

The work

A technical product needs a clear place in the customer’s process.

I work with customers to understand their requirements and with colleagues across engineering, quality and operations to shape an appropriate response.

That involves more than describing a product’s features. It means understanding the application, identifying the information a customer needs and making sure the commercial proposal reflects what can be delivered.

I also work on market development, including research into opportunities in the United States, the Netherlands, Belgium and Italy.

From first orders to repeat business

One of the most important parts of my work has been securing the first GMP orders for the SpinMaster product line.

The work continued after the orders were placed. I managed the customer relationship through delivery, gathered feedback and used that information to support further product and commercial decisions.

Those relationships led to repeat orders.

For me, that progression matters. An initial order shows that a customer is willing to commit. Repeat business provides a different kind of evidence: experience with the product and the team behind it.

Connecting market activity with commercial opportunities

I have developed campaigns around international trade shows, supported by digital marketing and direct customer engagement.

The aim is to make each activity part of a wider commercial plan, rather than treating an exhibition as a standalone event.

I have also worked with government agencies to secure financial support for research, development and entry into new markets.

My responsibilities

  1. Product strategy, commercial direction and lifecycle planning.
  2. Customer engagement and opportunity development.
  3. Positioning, pricing and market research.
  4. Coordination across commercial, engineering, quality and operations teams.
  5. Campaign planning and support for international market development.
  6. Engagement with government agencies on financial supports.

My perspective

In biopharmaceutical equipment, commercial credibility depends on technical accuracy and follow through.

The customer needs confidence not only in the product, but in the people responsible for specifying, manufacturing and supporting it.

My job is to help build that confidence through clear communication, sound decisions and reliable delivery.
