I’m Jason Roe, based in Cork, Ireland. I’ve worked at HubSpot, Dell EMC and Mandiant / FireEye, and cofounded Predict Insight, ParkYa and PlanDail.
I’ve been building products since I was a teenager. What began with building and experimenting became a career in product and a move into starting businesses of my own.
My work today
I enjoy work that requires both technical understanding and commercial judgement. I want to know how a product works, but also why a customer would choose it and what needs to happen for the relationship to succeed.
Working inside established companies and being a cofounder both shape how I approach that.
How I got here
I went on to found Predict Insight and help build ParkYa, exploring the commercial potential of location data.
Later roles took me into product leadership at TRRUE and product management at SmartTech247.
At Catalyx, my focus moved into automated inspection and manufacturing technology. That work brought together customer research, product strategy and the requirements of regulated production environments.
Continuing to learn
In 2025, I completed a Level 6 Certificate in Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Operations with InnoPharma Education.
The programme covered pharmaceutical science, manufacturing technology, quality assurance, quality control, GMP, process improvement and medical device operations.
Earlier study included Computer Science and Networking at Coláiste Dhúlaigh and the New Frontiers entrepreneur development programme.
I value formal learning when it helps me understand the work more deeply and ask better questions.
Community
I have been involved in Ireland’s technology community through Growth Hackers Dublin, startup events and service on the board of the Irish Internet Association.
Since 2023, I have also served as a Group Leader with the 97th Cork Scout Group in Innishannon, including responsibilities as a charity trustee.
These roles involve different kinds of work, but they share a need for commitment, practical organisation and people willing to take responsibility.
Away from work
I’m restoring a 1991 Land Rover Discovery.
It is a good reminder that understanding a system and getting it working properly are not always the same task.
